Verse and Worse

For years the "Daily Ditties" part of my web page has remained static. Originally it was put up to showcase a year's daily posting of original limericks to alt.jokes.limericks -- starting June 1997.

Just a bit old hat now, but if that is what you are interested in, you can still go there by clicking here.

Limericks are still my greatest interest, and now this website features The Jim McWilliam Limericks Collection. This is probably the most extensive collection of lims on the web. If you didn't go there directly from my home page you can click on it now and if you like spend many hours reading close to 96,000 limericks.

Click here for other limerick links and limerick lore.

But limericks aren't the only humorous verse in the universe, and I have a few others (not originals) that I'd like to share with you here.

There are bawdy songs as well. Most of those I have found just plain crude and I don't like them. But The Sons of the Pioneers did a marvelous job on The Castration of the Strawberry Roan. If you came here from my home page you're probably still listening to a MIDI version of the tune; if I can ever get permission I'll put up an MP3 of the Pioneers rendering.

AND -- horror of horrors! I have even written (and published) a bit of serious poetry...

Enjoy!
